"Laura
Paxton's book Borderline and Beyond is enormously helpful
- no matter what kind of therapy is being used. It will
be helpful for those not in treatment as well. I highly
encourage everyone with the BPD to use this book as a guide." Leland Heller, MD, author
of Life At the Border: Understanding and Recovering from
Borderline Personality Disorder
"To develop a program to assist in the recovery process of borderline patients is work you deserve commendation for. To be able to instill hope in patients and staff alike is a precious gift you have given to those who have wished to hear your inspirational and authentic message."
Raymond Fideleo, MD, Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital

"Most importantly, Paxton shows that it is possible
to do much more than just "recover"-you can make
life a joyful experience if you are willing to take the first
step. To people who have suffered for years, this is desperately
needed information, since one must believe in recovery-even
visualize it. I recommend this book to those who need to
learn these lessons and those with a friend or family member
who needs inspiration and hope for the future." Randi Kreger, Author of Stop
Walking On Eggshells: When Someone You Love Has Borderline
Personality Disorder
"The workbook,
Borderline and Beyond, that Laura Paxton has written
is, by far, the
most exciting and supportive
inspiration I have encountered for treating people diagnosed
with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)." Pamela Ashby, MFT
Laura offers a variety of e-mail
and phone counseling programs to meet your individual needs. There
are programs for people suffering from borderline personality disorder, family members and clinicians. Fees for all services are $50 for 25 minutes or $100 for 50 minutes by telephone. Please e-mail for more information regarding e-mail counseling rates or how to make payment arrangements. Discounts are available for those who purchase multiple sessions in advance.
For
People Suffering from BPD
Laura Paxton is only offering phone and e-mail counseling for people suffering from borderline personality disorder on a very limited basis. The best candidates for this type of work are those who already have an outside therapist, and/or psychiatrist, and who are primarily looking for coaching and support. Clients who have derived the maximum benefit from phone counseling have usually either progressed quite a bit in their recovery process already, or they display many traits of BPD, but do not fit the full diagnostic criteria.
For
Family Members
Laura offers support to family members
as well as people suffering from BPD, using a flexible, yet structured format. This
program focuses on learning
detachment, setting healthy limits and boundaries and learning
to care for and validate yourself.
This program also focuses on
education about the borderline disorder, so that you can know
what types of behaviors to expect and how to manage life with
the family member suffering from BPD
during intense episodes of borderline acting-out. Please read the testimonials of other family members about Laura's
family support program.
For Clinicians
Clinical Support Program. If you are a mental health professional
who is struggling with a case of borderline personality disorder
that is leaving you feeling baffled because it is evoking strong
counter-transference reactions, Laura is available for consultation.
